Top 3 Reasons to Take a Midweek Break

07th May 2017

Some of the first things that come to mind when we think weekend is a weekend escape. Lots of people think that weekends and holidays are synonymous with each other.  While this can be true, it isn’t always the case. Some of the best holidays we’ve had have been mini midweek getaways. We’ve chatted to some travelers that come through Beacon midweek and they’ve shared a few reasons why they prefer travelling midweek.

Less Crowds
With so many people booking holidays on the weekend, it can mean that everything is much more crowded than you would find it during the middle of the week.  It can take longer to get into attractions, the lines are longer, and a great place to eat might be booked out. Carparking is nice and easy midweek and a day at the beach midweek might mean having the place almost all to yourself. If you are camping or caravanning, it also means there are less people to share the amenities with.

Less Expensive
Travelling midweek can often be more cost effective than travelling on weekends. Lots of accommodation providers provide midweek specials, packages and deals which might even include some extra freebies or upgrades. Staying midweek means you might even be able to have a late checkout, allowing extra time for a cherished holiday sleep in.

Less of a Working Week
Taking a break midweek makes your working week feel a lot shorter and makes the actual weekend seem so much closer, it’s a win-win! A midweek break will leave you feeling rested and rejuvenated and boost your productivity when you get back to work as well.

Once you begin to travel midweek, you may never want to take a weekend getaway again. The best part about midweek travel is you have so many more opportunities to hit the road and find a new adventure.  After all, there are more than twice as many midweek days as there are weekend days!
